Brant, Joseph. An Indian chief of the Mohawk nation. Born in Ohio about 1742. Held a commission n the British service, and fought against the American colonists in the Revolution. He went, afterwards, to England, where he published the Gospel of St. Mark in Mohawk. Died 1807.
